A First Look at Legacy Ranch High School in Liberty Hill

Excitement is building in Liberty Hill as Legacy Ranch High School officially celebrated its ribbon cutting ceremony ahead of its highly anticipated opening this August. The event marked a major milestone not only for Liberty Hill ISD, but for the rapidly growing community surrounding it.

Held on May 6, the ceremony welcomed families, students, educators, district leaders, and community members for a first look at the brand-new campus that will soon open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year.

Designed For Growth and The Future

Legacy Ranch High School will become Liberty Hill ISD’s second high school, helping accommodate the district’s rapid population growth. According to district data, enrollment has increased nearly 89% since the 2020-21 school year, making expanded educational facilities a major priority for the area.

Construction on the campus began in September 2023, with more than 450 crew members working onsite during peak construction. The project represents years of planning, investment, and community collaboration focused on supporting future generations of students.

Inside the New Campus

The new 475,000-square-foot campus was designed with modern learning and student life in mind. The school features updated classrooms, collaborative learning environments, and large gathering spaces intended to support both academics and extracurricular activities.

One of the campus highlights is its 925-seat auditorium, which will host performances, ceremonies, and school events throughout the year. The school’s athletic facilities are equally impressive, including Wrangler Stadium, which can hold more than 9,000 fans and is expected to become a centerpiece for Friday night football and community gatherings.

Building a New Tradition

Legacy Ranch High School students are already beginning to build the school’s identity and traditions ahead of opening day. The school’s mascot, the Wranglers, and its navy blue and legacy blue colors are expected to become familiar symbols throughout the community in the coming years.

Initial enrollment is projected to include more than 1,500 students. Until the campus officially opens, students have temporarily been attending classes at Legacy Ranch Middle School.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, former Liberty Hill Superintendent Steven Snell shared his excitement about finally seeing the campus ready for students, teachers, coaches, and staff to bring it to life.

What This Means for the Community

The opening of Legacy Ranch High School reflects more than just a new building, it highlights the continued growth and momentum happening throughout Liberty Hill.

For current residents and future homebuyers alike, strong schools remain one of the most important factors when choosing where to live. Investments in education, infrastructure, and community spaces continue to shape Liberty Hill into one of the area’s fastest-growing and most desirable communities.

As the August opening approaches, anticipation continues to grow for the start of a new chapter for Liberty Hill ISD and the families who will soon call Legacy Ranch High School home.
